Tired of Being Stressed: Tips to Discovering Your Inner Peace

A common phrase that we hear a lot is: “I’m stressed out!” Stress comes in all shapes and forms. People can get stressed out by their jobs, their significant other, their children, their family, their pets, society, the media, and life in general. Often times we get so stressed out that we forget how to relax.

So how can you reduce stress and find your inner peace? BREATHE!

Say what…all I have to do is breathe? Yes! Deep breathing is not only a great stress reliever it also have a number of health benefits (sleep better, reduces pain, increases energy, lowers blood pressure).

Try these steps for 10 minutes each day & BREATHE your way into RELAXATION

1. Find a quiet, comfortable place to sit or lie down (helpful tip: if you are unable to find silence in the area you are in, try going to the bathroom to find solitude.)

2. Breathe like you typically do.

3. Now begin to focus on your breathing techniques. Inhale slow through your nose, allowing your chest and lower belly to rise as you fill your lungs. Let your abdomen expand fully. Hold your breath for 3 seconds

4. Now exhale slowly through your mouth for 5 seconds.

5. Do it all again
