GROUP THERAPY

Serving Richmond, Chesterfield, Midlothian and surrounding counties.

Group sessions consists of people who share a commonality of concerns. Group sessions provides an atmosphere of hope and universality.  It will allows you to receive support and encouragement from the facilitator and others within the group, helping you to feel more equipped for any upcoming circumstances or events you maybe going through.

You will be provided opportunities to ask the facilitator questions and offer responses that will help others cope with their situation. This process involves the facilitator supporting and guiding the group with responses that provide positive feedback on how each person can explore outcomes to help them work through their situation. This journey will consist of the group working together to identify areas in which they feel they are “stuck” and require more support in moving forward.

Controlling Your Anxiety – provides a supportive and safe environment for individuals to explore, understand, and manage their anxiety. The group offers a space for participants to connect with others who share similar experiences, reducing feelings of isolation and fostering a sense of community. Through guided discussions, skill-building exercises, and evidence-based techniques such as cognitive-behavioral strategies and mindfulness practices, members learn practical tools to identify triggers, challenge anxious thoughts, and develop healthy coping mechanisms. And it also encourages open dialogue, emotional expression, and mutual encouragement, empowering participants to take control of their anxiety and improve their overall mental well-being.

Overcoming Depression – offers a supportive and understanding environment where individuals can share their experiences, learn coping strategies, and work toward healing alongside others facing similar challenges. Facilitated by licensed professionals, these sessions encourage connection, growth, and recovery. Group therapy for depression not only reduces the isolation that depression can bring but also fosters a sense of shared understanding and hope. Together, participants work toward improving their mental health and overall quality of life.
 
Managing Grief & Lossprovides compassionate support for individuals navigating the difficult emotions and challenges that come with loss. Whether grieving the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or other significant life changes, this program offers tools and a safe space to heal and move forward. This group helps individuals honor their loss, build resilience, and find hope as they navigate their unique journey of healing.
 
Couples & Relationships – is designed to help partners build stronger, healthier, and more fulfilling relationships. This supportive group setting allows couples to explore common challenges, improve communication, and strengthen emotional connections while learning from both the therapist and the shared experiences of others. And it also provides a safe, nonjudgmental space for couples to grow together, gain new perspectives, and build the skills needed for long-term relationship success. Whether addressing current struggles or simply strengthening your partnership, our couples group fosters growth, healing, and connection.
 
Working Through Trauma – offers compassionate support and care for individuals who have experienced distressing or life-altering events. This group aims to help participants process their experiences, develop coping skills, and begin the journey toward healing and resilience in a safe, supportive environment. While being trauma-focused, our group looks to empower individuals to reclaim their strength, reduce the long-term effects of trauma, and move toward a healthier, more balanced life.
Working Through Family Dynamics provides a supportive environment for individuals seeking to better understand and navigate complex family relationships. This group focuses on exploring patterns, communication styles, and emotional dynamics within families, helping participants foster healthier connections and address unresolved challenges. In addition, we also ensure it a safe and nonjudgmental space for participants to explore their family relationships, gain clarity, and build the skills needed to strengthen connections and promote personal well-being.
 
We Just Need 2 Talk offers a safe, supportive, and collaborative space for individuals to explore their emotions, behaviors, and relationships with others. This type of group therapy focuses on understanding and addressing personal challenges through meaningful interactions and shared experiences with group members, all guided by a skilled facilitator. The Process Group is ideal for individuals seeking to deepen their self-awareness, improve their relationships, and gain valuable insight into their personal growth journey. Together, members navigate life’s challenges while supporting and learning from one another.
 
Program Cost & Fees

The MHCA program offers an affordable way to access a wide range of mental health and wellness courses in addition to number of Workforce & Development Courses. The total cost to access all courses within the program is $50.00 per month for individuals, $75.00 per month for two people, $100.00 per month for a family of three, and $120.00 per month for families of four or more. We proudly accept commercial and Medicaid insurance, private-pay options, and Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) through various companies.

For those using insurance, each participant must be covered under their policy and attend at least two courses per month per person, which can be in-person or virtual. Attendance is carefully verified to ensure everyone benefits fully from the program. Your well-being is our priority, and we’re here to support you every step of the way. 💙
